In order to provide a strategic vision and actions to leverage Smith Reynolds Airport for Winston-Salem's business development and overall competitive advantage, the Chamber of Commerce commissioned a study in 2017. The final report was prepared by John D. Kasarda and Brent Lane and included Aerotropolis business concepts. An Aerotropolis Task Force was established after the report was submitted to act upon the recommendations in the report and the community leaders meet twice a year to stay on track and to work together. The Task Force is co-chaired by the Chairman of the County Commissioners and the Mayor of Winston-Salem. Here is a link to the report:
